Q: What is Amazon recalling and why?


A: Amazon is voluntarily recalling impacted Amazon Basics Executive Home Office Desk Chairs as the caster may break, posing a fall hazard.



Q: Is this an official CPSC recall of the products?


A: No. Amazon is voluntarily recalling impacted Amazon Basics Executive Home Office Desk Chairs in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).



Q. Have there been any injuries?


A: One consumer reported a shoulder injury. No medical treatment was reported.



Q. How can I tell if the products I purchased are affected?


A: Impacted Amazon Basics Executive Home Office Desk Chairs were sold starting in September 2021 until April 2022 and show a plastic rib shown in photo below.



Q. What is the company doing as a remedy?


A: Amazon will be offering customers who register a full refund.



Q. What should I do?


A: Impacted consumers should stop using the chairs immediately and contact customer service.



Q. Can I continue to use my unit?


A: No. If you still have the impacted product, we urge you to stop using it immediately and follow the registration steps shown on this page. If your chair is confirmed to not be affected by the recall, please continue use of your product – there is no safety issue.



Q: Where can I find my Amazon Order ID?


A: Amazon notified customers directly and provided the Order ID(s) within their direct customer email communication. You can also find your Order ID by visiting the ‘Orders’ page within your Amazon account.



Q: What type of refund?
